Before School Care
For parents who start their day early or commute to Wellington, you can drop your children from 7.00am – 9.00am. They can gently wake with some quiet activities, have some breakfast and be safely walked to school by one of the Pod team. Greytown School is a 7-minute walk.
If you are commuting, The Pod is an 8-minute drive to Woodside Station.

Booking Information
All before care services are charged at an hourly rate and require two day’s notice for cancelled days.
After School Care
Our after-school programme is available for children from 3.00pm to 6.00pm. Our after-school programme caters to the individual needs of our children, with fun and physical activities, relaxation, homework and more.
The programme involves
School pick-up
Our Pod team arrives at Greytown School before bell-time and meets the children. From there, they walk back to The Pod.
Afternoon tea
We know how hungry children are after school! We provide favourites like cheese toasties, muffins, fruit and more. They need some energy for what comes next!
Games and activities
The Pod team makes sure children find activities for the afternoon and that they are all included and happy.
We offer:
- Organised games
- Trampoline
- Flying fox
- Scooter park
- Arts and crafts
- Indoor games, toys and puzzles
- Chilling out in a beanbag with a book
Homework supervision
Our Pod team provides individual homework support and supervision. Children can start or complete their homework after school with us, helping to take pressure off in the evening, and free up time in the evening to enjoy together!

School holiday programmes
School holidays can be a time of stress, worry and sometimes guilt for working parents. Let all that go with our holiday programmes that children really want to come to! Our fun and flexible holiday programmes are designed to meet a wide range of needs and interests.
Our holiday programmes options are:
- Full day: 8.00am – 5.00pm
- Half day: 9.00am – 3.00pm
Children have a range of great activities available. The Pod team makes sure children find activities for the day and that they are included and happy.
We offer:
- Organised games
- Trampoline
- Flying fox
- Scooter park
- Arts and crafts
- Indoor games, toys and puzzles
- Chilling out in a beanbag with a book
- Swimming in summer in our safely fenced and fully supervised onsite pool. Please remember to bring your togs and a towel, and there is a $5 sunscreen charge.
- Themed and special fun days
- Short excursions such as bike riding for older children
- Outdoor play throughout the year, often in the mud in winter
All children need morning tea, lunch and a drink bottle. With a kitchen onsite, our team are happy to heat up any lunch items or last night’s dinner for their lunch! Children are welcome to bring bikes, scooters and skateboards to use on our scooter park. Technology and ICT devices are also welcome, although their use is closely monitored by a member of our team and we do implement time restrictions on their use while at The Pod. In summer children must bring a hat everyday.

Booking Information
While we try to be as flexible as we can, we understand that sometimes plans change, or the grandparents arrive in town and offer to babysit! While we are happy to ‘swap’ days where possible, missed or cancelled days are charged at the full rate.

Teacher-only and other special days
The Pod stays in touch with local schools and offers childcare services when school is closed during term-time or for half-days, for teacher-only days, teacher/parent meetings or teacher meetings.
